Nvidia’s Jensen Huang Gets First Pay Raise in Decade

The Thursday SEC filing shows Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang received his first salary increase since 2015 which brought his base pay to $1.5 million after a 49% increase. The total compensation package for 2025 reached $49.9 million after variable cash payments increased by $1 million (50%) and stock awards reached $38.8 million. The compensation committee based their decision to increase pay on maintaining equal compensation levels with other executive staff members.

The 114% revenue increase to $130.5 billion in 2025 for Nvidia stems from its AI-focused GPUs which made the company a worldwide technology leader while its stock price increased ninefold since 2022. The 3.5% stake Huang owns in the company has grown to $94 billion in value. The company increased security and driver services expenses to $3.5 million from their previous level of $2.2 million.

The security and travel expenses for Google CEO Sundar Pichai reached $8.27 million. The modest salary increase for Huang stems from his stock holdings because Nvidia’s stock value has skyrocketed despite the company’s rapid growth. Nvidia maintains its position as the leading AI chip manufacturer while Huang’s compensation package demonstrates the company’s commitment to rewarding leadership during its period of exceptional growth and market dominance.
