Enterprise Products Partners announced that the Seaway crude oil pipeline system has returned to full operation following a leak which interrupted flows during the previous week.
The crude oil pipeline section that runs from Cushing Oklahoma to Freeport Texas and connects to Enterprise’s Houston terminal experienced a shutdown on Tuesday night because of the incident at the ECHO facility in southeast Houston.
The pipeline disruption caused a temporary halt in crude deliveries through a vital Gulf Coast transportation route. The company failed to disclose the amount of crude affected by the leak and did not reveal the source of the leak.
The Seaway pipeline which Enbridge co-owns functions as a primary route for transporting U.S. crude to refining and export facilities. The pipeline system will return to normal operational status after its expected restart.
